第一篇的潮人访谈登场了！我们请来DJ POINT作为我们这个特别单元的第一位嘉宾。相信大家对其本人都有一定的认识吧，其本人为本地超人气嘻哈组合Manhand的其中一员，而且也是本地知名DJ-DJ Goldfish领军的Goldsound里的一份子。

Our very first interview for AN INTERVIEW WITH THE HYPES! brings to you DJ POINT, a local DJ from a very well known local chinese group called MANHAND and also a member of Goldsound whom is lead by DJ Goldfish.

MTH : Yo! Point ，好久不见了，近来还好吗？

P : Yo! 最近比较忙，都是以 Manhand 第二张专辑 SHOWHAND 的宣传工作为主，及在各夜场打碟。

MTH : 对了，恭喜你及 Manhand 的专辑于10天内卖出2000张！

P : 谢谢，很高兴这次的专辑得到那么大回响。

MTH : 坦白说，我们都相当喜欢这张专辑，比起第一张进步了很多很多。

P : 是的，由于第一张专辑我们各成员都没什么经验，而且进度也较慢，就好像“阿莆”这首歌，我们用了大概半年时间来完成录音，因为有很多东西都靠我们自己去摸索，因此影响了进度。录第二张专辑时，有了更多经验后我们也只用了半年时间就完成整个专辑所有歌曲的录音。虽然进度快了很多，但是歌曲本身依然保持高水准。

MTH : 用半年时间录完整个专辑，果然是很快哦！好了，不如我们谈谈你自己吧，其实你是怎么开始喜欢及接触音乐呢？我们相信读者们都很好奇。

P : 哈哈哈！我想应该由我读中一那年开始说起吧，那时我第一次接触吉他，由我二哥教导我，我学了大概半年后，他就介绍了一位音乐老师给我，=我就从那时开始一直玩吉他，也学懂了自弹自唱。一直到我中五那年，当时人人都在想着毕业后该进修什么课目或到哪里去进修的。我当时就曾想过当一位发型师，因为我很喜欢研究及染我头发的颜色，哈哈哈！至于我妈就叫我去当厨师，因为她说这样就可以在家煮饭给她吃，哈哈哈！当时我的音乐老师就提议我不如到吉隆坡去见识见识吧(当时Point住在Johor)。我接受了老师的意见后就单人匹马到吉隆坡去看看有什么音乐学院适合自己，终于就在朋友介绍下我去了MIA主修Classical Music系，就是这样踏入音乐之门。

MTH : 你主修Classical Music？真的吗？难以置信哦！

P : 哈哈哈！这可是千真万确哦！

MTH : 那你又怎么从一位主修Classical Music系的学生变成现在的DJ身份呢？

P : 其实就在我Semester 2 那年开始我就已经是一位音乐教师了，专门教一些小朋友及年轻人弹吉他。但是过了一段时间就开始觉得很闷，每天过着这些同样的生活。就在这时我认识了当年大马一个地下团队Mumster的其中一员，他也是一名DJ，跟他熟了后也就开始渐渐认识了嘻哈音乐，看到他打碟一副很型的模样后，我就开始对打碟产生兴趣了。不久后，他就卖了一部turntable器材给我，也帮我找到了一部Mixer，就这么样我开始自己学习打碟了。



MTH : Yo! Point, long time no see. How are you recently?

P : Yo! I've been busy recently focusing mainly on Manhand's 2nd Album SHOWHAND Promo Tour and also DJ-ing for clubs.

MTH : Oh ya, congrats to you and your group Manhand for selling out 2000 copies in within 10 days!

P : Thanks, am very glad this album had got a very good respond.

MTH : Honestly, we love this album and frankly it has got improvement compared to the 1st album.

P : Ya ya, because in the 1st album, we are less experienced. For example this song "阿莆", we have used around half a year to record because we have to source a lot of things ourselves. After gaining experience from the 1st album, our 2nd album took around half a year to complete. Even though we have speed up in the processing of this 2nd album, still our songs have remained its highest quality.

MTH : Wow! Half a year for an album is real fast! Ok, let's stop talking bout the album. Let's talk bout you. Actually how you got yourself into the music scene? We are sure a lot of people are curious bout it..

P : Hmm... I think i'll start talking bout it from Form 1. At that moment it's my first time being introduced into how to play a guitar and it was taught by my 2nd brother. Not long after that, my 2nd brother introduced a guitar tutor to me and i learned bout it till i can play the guitar and sing at the same time. But it was when i was in Form 5 that i got puzzled as to what i should do after Form 5. At that moment, i thought of being a hairstylist, hahaha! Because i like to color and style my hair! Hahaha! As for my mom, she told me to be a chef because in this way, i can cook for her everyday. Hahaha! But it was at this moment too that my guitar tutor advised me to go and have a look at KL.( At that time DJ Point lives in Johor ). I took his advise and went straight to KL to look for some musical academy and thru friends introduction that i eventually end up at MIA taking up classical music course. It is from here that i started up my music life too.

MTH : You? Learning classical music? Are you for real? It doesn't look like you!

P : Hahaha! Hard to believe right? But yea, it was real!

MTH : Hmmm... Then how you got yourself from classical music to DJ-ing?

P : Actually it was when i was in semester 2 when i started teaching young kids and teenagers guitar that it strike me and i realized i can't go on like this forever and i wish to get myself involve more into music. At this moment i also met up with one of the member of a local underground group called "Mumster" and he is a DJ. After knowing him for sometime, i realized that spinning at the turntable is a cool stuff to do and i grew to love DJ-ing. After that, he also sold me his turntable and also found me a mixer. From then on, i started to learn myself.
